Open-cell spray foam is the softer of the two foam types installed across UK lofts during the ECO4 grant programme. It looks like dense expanding foam, you can compress it with a hand, and it crumbles in lumps when you cut it back. Open-cell removal is faster than closed-cell — typically two days for a 3-bed semi. We strip every piece down to bare timber, photograph the underside for the lender pack, and dispose under licensed waste transfer. Open-cell removal across West Yorkshire runs £50-60 per m² of foam coverage, with paperwork pack and skip included.
